Buying a Corn Snake

Hi, if you have always wanted to own a corn snake as a pet either because you are an avid reptile lover or if you have just seen a video or read a book about them you have come to this site wanting to know how you can acquire an exotic pet like the corn snake. OK, so if you live in North America you may be tempted to just go and get yourself a corn snake from the wild because this is a cheap and what seems an easy option. DO NOT DO THIS! Taking corn snakes from their natural habitat should not be or never be considered because it will affect wildlife ecology because these creatures are very essential in managing the rodent populations and are part of a healthy ecosystems which include maintaining their population in the wild.

The most common way in acquiring a corn snake is visiting your local pet shop. Find out if your local pet shop breeds these reptiles. You could also use the internet to find breeders and, if you are already clear about what kind of snake you want based on its color etc, this might be the easiest option for you especially if your local pet shop does not supply corn snakes.
